First batch of 500 units to be delivered in January 2023.
Prices to be revealed in December, likely to begin from Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
BYD’s latest entrant in the country, the Atto 3, has reached dealerships and is available for test drives within a week of its debut. It will be launched via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and makes up the carmaker’s portfolio alongside the E6 MPV.
It injects a breath of freshness inside, with a host of inserts and finishes that seem quirky, to say the least. You can check out all the bits that are cool via our auto visual story. The India-spec model gets the 60 kWh battery pack with fast-charging compatibility and powers a 204PS electric motor, good for an ARAI-claimed range of 521km. You can go through all the nitty-gritty of the electric SUV in our detailed image article.
The SUV is brimmed with safety features, which include a host of ADAS tech like forward collision avoidance, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. All this safety equipment has helped the SUV pass the Euro NCAP crash tests with flying colours as it scored a full five-star safety rating.
Order books for the Atto 3 are open for a token amount of Rs 50,000. BYD will disclose the SUV’s pricing in December which is expected to be around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric as a bigger, more premium alternative.
